Nothing’s better than climbing into a dreamy bed at the end of the day, but with so many options on the market, picking the perfect sleep products can be a baffling experience.
To find the bedding and sleep products that are actually worth it, the home experts at Good Housekeeping and the textiles pros in the Good Housekeeping Institute evaluated hundreds of bedding items in the GH Lab. We also sent these products to more than 500 home testers to get real-world feedback. We’ve combined our expert assessments with this consumer feedback to pick the items that’ll help you build your best bed ever.
Meet the GH Experts
How We Tested
The fiber scientists, engineers and home experts in the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab combine textile industry standards and proprietary test methods to regularly evaluate all types of bedding — including mattresses, mattress toppers, pillows, sheets, comforters and much more.
We used specialized Lab equipment to evaluate attributes dependent upon each category. For instance, our Instron machine pulls apart sheet swatches to measure fabric strength, while our Martindale machine rubs the fabric together to mimic tossing and turning so that we can assess pilling resistance. We also repeatedly launder products using standard washers and dryers to measure shrinkage, and our analysts visually assess construction to make sure products meet our strict standards.
Beyond the Lab, each product is thoroughly reviewed by sleep testers in their own homes. Users score the bedding on qualities like comfort, support, temperature regulation, ease of use, appearance and more. They also have the opportunity to share open-ended responses so we get a comprehensive view of their experience with the tested product. After tallying up all the data, we narrowed it down to these 60 winners that will have you counting down the minutes ’til bedtime.

Glossy Satin Pillowcase
Bedsure Satin Pillowcase
From $9 for two
amazon.com
Bedsure’s affordable pillow cover uses synthetic satin fabric to prevent creases while you sleep. It’s a best seller on Amazon for its ability to offer some of the key benefits of a silk pillowcase at less than $5 per case.
LAB RESULTS: Testers unanimously rated the fabric smooth, yet not too slippery. One user told us, “It is soft, and my hair was not messy after sleeping on it.” It also held up well to laundering and didn’t wrinkle as easily as silk.
